Registration is now open for the 8 km Run for Ukraine on Saturday 21st May. The registration process is being handled by Dorsal Chip, a company accredited by the Spanish Athletic Association for the timing of official races, who will be responsible for the registration and timing of all runners.
Online registration is open until the 17th May and is 10 euros per runner, which includes a T-Shirt (make sure you indicate your size on the registration page), your number and ‘chip’ which will monitor your time and position, insurance, and a number of other goodies.
Collection of shirts, numbers and dorsal chips is at the registration point from 9.30 am on the day, with the race for the serious runners setting off at 11 am, with the fun runners, cyclists, dog walkers, etc., leaving 5 minutes later. Those of you who feeling competitive should select ‘Corredor’ in the ‘categoria’ menu, fun runners, dog walkers, etc., ‘Marchador’. For those of you who would like to contribute, but don’t feel up to doing the course, or are away on the day, then Dorsal Chip offers the option ‘Dorsal 0’.
If you are feeling generous there is also a facility to add an additional donation over and above the basic subscription.
The start/finish point is on the Paseo Maritimo in Sabinillas, with course passing through Puerto de la Duquesa, Castillo de la Duquesa and through the Manilva Coastal Ecological Reserve as far as the site of the old La Floria chiringuito, returning to the Paseo in Sabinillas, a run of 8 kms.
The route will be clearly marked with marshalls and Civil Protection on hand to ensure a safe and enjoyable run.
