Frente Bolillon donation 2025

For more than a decade, the Duquesa Charitable Society of Saint George has ensured that hundreds of local disadvantaged children receive Christmas gifts. Last year, the Charity partnered with the Estepona-based volunteer group Frente Bolillón, contributing €2,000 to support the distribution of presents to children in Manilva, Casares and Estepona.

This Christmas, the Saint George Charity is proud to increase its donation to €2,500 as part of its 2025 Christmas Campaign, helping to bring joy to even more young people across the three municipalities. The Charity extends heartfelt thanks to its volunteers, customers, donors and supporters whose generosity makes this work possible — a true community effort.

Frente Bolillón – Bringing Christmas joy to children in Estepona, Casares and Manilva

Every year, Frente Bolillón leads one of the most touching festive initiatives on the western Costa del Sol: the “Ningún Niño Sin Juguete” (No Child Without a Toy) campaign. With the support of local residents, businesses and community groups, the collective works tirelessly to ensure that some 500 children from vulnerable families wake up on Three Kings Day with a gift of their own.

Working closely and discreetly with social services, schools and neighbourhood associations, the organisation identifies families most in need and provides new, age-appropriate toys chosen with care. Throughout December, donation points across Estepona, Casares and Manilva fill with contributions, while volunteers sort, prepare and wrap each present to guarantee that every child receives something special.

Frente Bolillón’s initiative has grown year after year, becoming a symbol of solidarity and the belief that no child should miss out on the magic of Christmas. Their message remains simple and powerful: when a community comes together, every child can feel the joy and dignity they deserve.

Saint George Christmas Charity Quiz raises over €10,000 for Feed a Child campaign

0

More than a hundred people gathered on Saturday 29th November for the annual Christmas Quiz at the Hairy Lemon in Sotogrande Port.

Organised and presented once again by local fitness instructor Jojo France, with the support of Katherine Grant, the event has become a much-loved part of the festive calendar. Together they created a lively, social afternoon that raised well over €10,000 for the Duquesa Charitable Society of St. George’s Feed a Child campaign. Through the Emaus Social Kitchen in Estepona, this initiative provides breakfast and lunch to schoolchildren who would otherwise attend school hungry.

The Saint George Charity extends heartfelt thanks to Jojo and Kath for their tireless dedication; to DJ Lee Doyle for generously donating his time and talent; to the management and staff of the Hairy Lemon, who ensured glasses were never empty; to the many individuals and businesses who contributed prizes and services for the auction; and above all, to everyone who took part in the quiz and gave so generously. Once again, the Sotogrande community rose to the occasion with remarkable generosity.

There was a pause in the proceedings as attendees made their way to the quayside to welcome Gil Peer at the finish of his 53km run. Gil has been marking his 50th birthday with a series of running challenges, culminating in this remarkable 53km effort, which raised an impressive €5,290

This fantastic amount brings the Saint George Charity’s Christmas fundraising total to just over €26,500. A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this possible.
