Saint George Charity installs 2 defibrillators in Sabinillas

The Duquesa Charitable Society of Saint George has commissioned the installation of 2 defibrillators in Sabinillas, the first one is situated on the front wall of Beccy’s and was funded by donations made by family, friends and customers following the tragic death of Beccy’s husband William ‘Bill’ Locke last year.

The second has been installed on the wall outside the Saint George Charity’s shop in Plaza los Naranjos in Sabinillas, with funding from the Gibraltar Robus Group and Ardonagh Community Trust.

Installed by the specialist company Salvavidas, the defibrillators are accessible 24-hours a day, and the Charity plans to install a network of defibrillators across the municipality, with more sites already identified in Sabinillas, Duquesa Port, Castillo and Manilva Town.

More information about their use and availability of courses, etc, will be published shortly, along with news about how individuals and businesses can support this project going forward.

In the photo are Dean Shelton, President of the Saint George Charity; Tony Gardner, one of the key fundraisers for the Beccy’s installation; Judith Beaumont, secretary of the Charity; José Manuel Fernández, the Charity’s technical adviser; and Becky Locke.
