José Manuel Fernández, Mayor of Manilva, accompanied by the Councillors for Infrastructure & Works, AgustÃÂn Vargas, Social Welfare, Gema Zotano and for Foreign Residents, Dean Tyler Shelton, visited the Bosquipark facilities in Sabinillas along with officials from the Saint George Charity and Emmaus Social Kitchens Charity.
This meeting was the next step in the process of making the social kitchen a reality, and will become a reality once the municipal technicians carry out the final project.
The benefits of the operation are:
- More than 150 people will benefit from this service every day.
- It will be managed by the experienced Emmaus Association.
- Five jobs will be created.
- The social kitchen will be self-financing through subsidies.
- The Town Council will provide the space.
- The meals will be collected on site, although a vehicle will be available to make deliveries to the elderly and disabled people.
- Service from Monday to Friday. On Fridays, packs will be prepared for the weekend.
- An assessment of the people most in need will be carried out.
