Around 90 people turned out on Saturday 10th December for the Christmas Quiz hosted by the Hairy Lemon in Sotogrande Port.This annual event, which has become an integral part of the Christmas festivities, was once again organised and presented by local fitness instructor Jojo Ruby France, backed up by Katherine Grant, who created a fun social event which raised 3,474 euros for the Duquesa Charitable Society of St. George’s Feed a Child campaign which, through the Emaus Social Kitchen in Estepona, provides breakfast and lunch for school kids who would otherwise attend school in a state of hunger.
The Saint George Charity would like to thank Jojo and Kath for their tireless work on this campaign; to DJlee Doyle, who once again provided his services for free; to the management and staff of the Hairy Lemon, who made sure nobody went thirsty; to all the individuals and businesses who donated their goods and services for the auction; and lastly but by no means least, all those who took part in the quiz and gave so generously. Once again the Sotogrande community stepped up to the plate when asked.
This fabulous sum brought the campaign total to just 150 euros shy of this year’s 12,000 euro target. A big thank you to everybody that has made this possible.
